Temaet for kongressen var “Profession: Carillonist Changing Perspectives” med fokus på musikeren i tårnet som må inneha flere roller og beherske flere oppgaver for å lykkes i tjenesten. Det er også det som gjør en klokkenist hverdag så spennende. Kongressen var sammenfallende med festivalen for gammel musikk og ga deltakerne et rikholdig program bestående av konserter, foredrag og sosialt samvær. Og når det er i en by med så fine klokkehistoriske fortællinger som Oslo, og endda med dygtige fortællere, så er successen hjemme. Årets konference var veltilrettelagt af den afgående formand, Vegar Sandholt. Selvfølgelig med fremvisning af demonstration af de lokale klokkespil i Domkirken, Rådhuset, Uranienborg Kirke og Bærum Rådhus i Sandvika, men også en virkelig kvalificeret rundvisning på Akershus Fæstning og en fornem festmiddag fredag aften. I min ungdom, da jeg arbejdede kortvarigt i Norge, fandtes mange vittigheder på norsk om Oslos lidenhed og selvopfattelse, men siden da har landets og byens udvikling gjort Christian Kvarts gamle by til en europæisk hovedstad med mange spændende nye attraktioner og en helt særlig stolthed over fortidens markeringer rundt om i fjordbyen. En by med tre fine klokkespil og en halv million indbyggere er jo nærmest fire gange så fint som København…hvis man skal sætte klokkespillene op mod indbyggertallet. På denne korte tid fik vi et fint indtryk af de forskellige klokkespil, og endda til slut muligheden for en fælles koncert i det smukke nordiske art deco rådhus i Bærum, hvor Vegar har været klokkenist siden 2001. Inden denne middagskoncert på velklingende 3 oktavers spil fik vi muligheden for at høre Goos ten Napel, klokkenist, organist og dirigent i Vor Frelsers Kirke i Haugesund, fortælle om sit arbejde med at arrangere pop-musik fra 1970’erne og 1980’erne for klokkespil. Det er meget vellykket arbejde, og det var lærerigt at høre om Goos’ tanker omkring udfordringerne ved at arrangere melodiøs pop for klokker. Jeg fik vældig lyst til at prøve teknikken af, så inspirationen blev vakt - også da Goos senere spillede nogle af sine fine arrangementer på Bærums klokker. Referat af generalforsamlingen kan læses andetsteds, så her skal fremhæves den overdådige buffet til festmiddagen og Laura Maria Rueslättens ønologiske uddannelse og talent, der til overdådighed gjorde vinene til en helt særlig oplevelse. Historien om Oslo Domkirkes fine klokkespil er ikke den mest opmuntrende, men det var virkeligt spændende at se tårnet, høre klokkespillet og nyde udsigten fra brandmuseet øvert oppe. Med tiden er der nok mulighed for, at historien om det donerede klokkespil til Christian 5. gamle barokkirke også kan ende lykkeligt for både klokker og by. I 1621 fik Danmark sit første klokkespil – som et af de første lande uden for Holland, Belgien og Nordfrankrig, der er klokkespillenes fædrelande. Det var den byggelystne Christian IV, som fik det opført på sit elskede Frederiksborg Slot. I dag findes 105 klokkespil i Danmark. Den tætte sammenhæng mellem klokkespillets historie og den øvrige Danmarkshistorie og kirkehistorie gør bogen ganske læsværdig også for den alment historieinteresserede læser. Bogen skildrer for eksempel den dramatiske brand på Frederiksborg Slot, som tog Danmarks første klokkespil med sig i faldet, samt historien bag de melodier, som afspilles på rådhuse landet over. But not only did the music sound in Bodø, but the piece was also performed in 16 carillons around the world during the festival days. The piece became a sounding symbol of Nordic Music Days and by the end of the festival it was decided to perform the piece at further festivals as a kind of NMD baton. This year, Nordic Music Days will take place in the Faroe Islands on September 1st - 4th, and Sacredness of Trees will be performed by Vegar Sandholt in Tórshavn, the capital of the Faroe Islands, every day at 13.00 throughout the week (August 30th - September 04th), each day in a different location in Tórshavn. This way we hope that as many people in Tórshavn as possible will hear the piece and notice that Nordic Music Days is taking place around their city. It was also performed each day of the festival (November 13-16), and was played simultaneously around the world, from 16 bell towers in Sweden, Denmark, USA, France, The Netherlands, Belgium and Australia! The Bodø Cathedral carillon is a beautiful instrument, built in 2012 with 50 bells (a bit more than 4 octaves) which were cast at the Royal Eijsbouts Bell Foundry in Asten, the Netherlands, one of the oldest and most respected bell foundries in the world. The commission from Nordic Music Days was based upon the festival theme of 'Truth'. Thinking about the bells themselves, the concept of Truth soon merged with my focus on the rich overtones of the bells. I came to think about the concept of overtones, and the fact that in English we sometimes use the word 'overtone' to denote something which is present or felt, without being stated. I started to think about the overtones of a bell—some very present, some barely audible— as that which expresses the bell's true character. Maybe our outward presence in the world can be expressed as our 'fundamental', while our true, complex character is expressed by our own subtle, unique, felt-but-not-heard mix of natural harmonic and non-harmonic overtones? With these thoughts in mind, I built my new piece for Nordic Music Days upon the overtones of the deepest bell in the Bodø carillon. Per Rasmus har gjennom dette bidratt med en formidabel innsats for selskapet. Derfor var det en glede for NSCK å utrope han til æresmedlem ved generalforsamlingen 2020. I anledning hans 70-årsdag skriver Amtsavisen.dk følgende om Per Rasmus Møller: Det kimer i klokker for Per Rasmus Møller! Ikke bare er han organist, han er også Kirkeministeriets klokkekonsulent. Nu fylder musikeren fra Djursland 70 år. Per Rasmus Møller har en travl arbejdshverdag, der deles mellem flere forskellige arbejdspladser. Han er organist i Vivild og Vejlby kirker på Norddjursland samt klokkenist ved Grenaa Kirke og Vejlby Kirke. Derudover underviser han studerende i bl.a. campanologi og klokkespilskundskab ved Løgumkloster Kirkemusikskole. Undervisningen foregår dels i Løgumkloster, dels i København og en gang imellem i Grenaa Kirke. En stor post i Per Rasmus Møllers arbejde er hans job som Kirkeministeriets klokkekonsulent. I den egenskab rådgiver han først og fremmest kirker i sager, hvor der skal laves ændringer eller nyanlæg i forbindelser med klokker, klokkespil og indimellem tårnure. Da Kirkeministeriet ansatte Per Rasmus Møller som klokkekonsulent, var det i første omgang for Østdanmark, idet man i første omgang gerne ville fordele arbejdet på to personer. Det varede dog kun et enkelt års tid, hvorefter Per Rasmus Møllers ansættelse kom til at omhandle hele landet. Her kommer hans oprindelige uddannelse ham til gode; han er oprindeligt udlært radiomekaniker hos radiofirmaet Markus, der engang fandtes i Grenaa, og han har senere – sideløbende med sine organistjobs - arbejdet en del år i radiobranchen. Den tekniske indsigt, fornemmelsen for håndværk samt hans evne til at tale med alle slags mennesker gør ham til en særdeles kompetent og vellidt medspiller i de mange sammenhænge, han arbejder i. Der skal samarbejdes med menighedsråd, stiftsøvrigheder, klokkeinstallatører, klokkenister og øvrige konsulenter, som er involveret i klokkesager. Han skal rådgive mennesker i et menighedsråd, som i de fleste tilfælde ikke ved noget af betydning om dette emne, men med sin store ekspertise og viden på området evner han at lytte til folk og prøve at give dem lige præcis den vejledning, som de efterlyser. Per Rasmus Møller er oprindelig fra landsbyen Hyllested ved Tirstrup, og hans gode hukommelse og den brændende interesse for landsbylivet hér fik ham til i 2013 at skrive bogen med titlen "Om Bette-Aksel, Kradéme-Søren, Sateme-Povl og alle de andre i barndommens Hyllested". Den andre - med tone C - ble støpt i 1926 av Olsen Nauen klokkestøperi for å erstatte en sprukket klokke fra 1834. De nye klokkene har tonene Eb og G med profil designet av J.
